SOCIAL WORK AND LAW SYMPOSIUM

The Social Work and Law Symposium (formerly Social Work and Law National Symposium), is a two-day virtual event bringing together justice-oriented educators, researchers, practitioners, community leaders, and students for synergistic learning collaboration. This event exists to harness energy, passion, and wisdom to advance the field of forensic social work. Those with interest in serving persons involved with the legal system or operate from a cross-disciplinary approach of social work and law are welcome. Our multi-year theme is A Kaleidoscope of Transformative Justice!

Join us for two full days of dynamic presenters leading engaging presentations, workshops and interactive discussions in key learning areas to include children and families, community policing, immigration, forensic education, values and ethics, and so much more!

We will kick off DAY 1 of this year's event with Training in ethics and other topics then continue on DAY 2 with a Welcome Address presented by the Founder and Organizing Chair in the morning followed by a dynamic Keynote Presentation in the afternoon.

Our symposium concludes on DAY 3 with virtual sessions by invited and accepted presenters, a Special Session on Lived Experience, a Call to Action around our education initiative, opportunities to participate in our Brief Mentorship initiative for students and early career professionals, as well as multiple opportunities for interdisciplinary networking. CEUs are available and included for paid registrants.

**A registration fee is required for all attendees. Complimentary free student registration space is limited. A discounted registration fee is available for current students once complimentary spaces are filled. Enrollment verification for the Fall 2024 academic term is required prior to event access for all student attendees who register for a complimentary ticket.

The symposium will be hosted using Zoom Events, a virtual events platform.

***Registered symposium attendees have full access to all sessions and materials for 60 days after the live event.

Call for Contributors

Deadline is EXTENDED to Monday July 15, 2024. Students are strongly encouraged to submit on their own, with other students, faculty, and/or relevant persons in the community. Proposal submission from international residents are welcomed and strongly encouraged.
